Το album της Tanita Tikaram με το twist in my sobriety κυκλοφόρησε μια μέρα αφού πήγα στην πρώτη Δημοτικού (12/9/1988). Πραγματικά απίθανο τραγούδι.

Ωχ, υπάρχουν άνθρωποι που πήγαιναν το 1988 πρώτη δημοτικού, δηλαδή γεννήθηκαν μετά το '80;

Kαι για να δέσουμε το χτες ('80) με το προχτές ('60- η Ιωάννα με οδήγησε σε αυτό με την επιλογή της.. ) ακούστε κι αυτό..
Τρομερη επιτυχία του Marc Almond και των Soft Cell, η αξεπέραστη disco cabaret εκτέλεση στο northern soul τραγούδι "Tainted love", που βέβαια δεν έγραψε ο ίδιος. Το τραγούδι γράφτηκε από τον Ed Cobb (μέλος των Four Preps, προδρόμων των Beach Boys από το Hollywood)...

Το έτος κυκλοφορίας της διασκευής του το "Tainted Love" υπήρξε το μεγαλύτερο σε πωλήσεις single στη Μεγάλη Βρετανία. Πρωτοκυκλοφόρησε τον Ιούλιο του 1981 σε διάφορες εκδόσεις με b-sides τα "Memorabilia", "Persuasion" και "Where did our love go".
Δεν είναι καθόλου υπερβολή να πουμε πως σαφώς ξεπέρασε σε δημοτικότητα το πρωτότυπο, το επισκίασε τόσο που πολύ λιγοι υποψιασμένοι έχουν υπόψη τους την πρωτη εκτέλεση του 1964 με τη Gloria Jones.

Προσέξτε τη διαφορά στην ατμόσφαιρα, πως το ωραιότατο τυπικό ποπ-σόουλ κομματάκι της εποχής μεταμορφώθηκε σε μια σκοτεινή, ολίγον γοτθική ηλεκτρο-ποπ ελεγεία...

Υ.Γ: 1. Ευχαριστώ για τα καλά σας λογια και τις αφιερώσεις σας... Ειστε η καλύτερη παρέα... 
       2. Φίλε Γιάννη μαλλον με παρεξήγησες... Δεν έβαλα σε κανενός το στόμα τη λέξη "φασίστας" εξ' όσων γνωριζω.. Ξαναδιάβασε αν θες να δεις... Και δεν είχα στο μυαλό μου τη δική σου, σε γενικές γραμμές ευγενική και μετριοπαθή απάντησή,  (που για μένα μετράει πολύ και κερδίζει εντυπώσεις, όπως και οι απαντήσεις του Γιώργου σε όσα του .."προσάπτουν"  ) αλλά όλες γενικώς τις γνώμες που πάνω-κατω "βγάζουν" ένα κλίμα για κάποιους (ή για τους πιο πολλούς) εκλεκτών, σέχτας, ελιτιστών κλπ...
           Επίσης, κανείς δεν ψάχνει να χαρακτηρισει κανέναν εδώ μέσα, λάθος το 'πιασες.. Οι άνθρωποι δε χαρακτηρίζονται έτσι αβασάνιστα από ένα τραγούδι, αλλά από το συνολο του λογου τους, των πραξεων, των σκέψεων, και από τη βιωματική σχέση μαζί τους..

Στο κάτω-κάτω............στις τόσες σελίδες υψηλού επιπέδου τραγουδιών,ας έχουμε και ένα-δύο που να μην είναι τόσο υψηλού επιπέδου και ενδεχομένως να αγγίζει και περισσότερο κόσμο.
Εκτός και αν εδώ όπως είπα και σε άλλο μήνυμά μου,βάζουμε τραγούδια μόνο οι επίλεκτοι του υψηλού επιπέδου.

Αγαπούλα δεν είπε κανένας το αντίθετο για ένα-δυο κομματια στο τόσο.. Ξερεις όμως πως πάει καμια φορα το πραγμα γι' αυτο κάποιοι προσπαθουν να το "μαζέψουν"    ..Ανοίγουν οι ασκοί του Αιόλου και αμολιούνται όλοι οι "σκύλοι" έξω.. 
Σ' εκεινο που διαφωνώ όμως είναι ότι το θέμα μας με τη "μουσική" είναι "υψηλού επιπέδου" με την έννοια μάλλον της "υψηλής κουλτούρας".. Το επίπεδο είναι αυτο που πρέπει, ούτε υψηλότερο, ούτε χαμηλότερο... Εκπαιδευτικοί είμαστε, ούτε οικοδόμοι, ούτε βαριά διανόηση τύπου Αξελού και Λακαριέρ...
Και αν θεωρεις ότι το "χαμηλότερο επιπεδο" τραγουδιων θα αγγίξει περισσότερο κόσμο, τότε κάτι ξέρεις που δεν ξερω, κατι έχω χάσει... Θα με λυπούσε πολύ όμως το γεγονός... 
       4. Εναστρη στο μυαλό μου ησουν με την Τανίτα..Μ' εκλεψες!! 
       5. Το '88 τέλειωνα το Λύκειο....    Α ρε νιούπηδες....

To τραγούδι και συγκεκριμένα οι στίχοι (η μουσική είχε ήδη  γραφτεί)  προέκυψαν μετά από μια έντονη διαφωνία, ανάμεσα στην  Annie Lennox και τον Dave Stewart ,τους  γνωστούς  Eurythmics κατά τη διάρκεια μιας ηχογράφησης  στη Νέα Υόρκη .Μετά το μεταξύ τους ξέσπασμα η Annie Lennox κοίταξε έξω από το παράθυρο ,είχε αρχίσει να βρέχει…κι είπε….

VICA,  είναι και το Is it like today ένα από τα τραγούδια που μου φτιάχνουν τη διάθεση... Ευχαριστώ    Κι ετοιμάζεται να βρέξει (μπράβο, enastron, που μου θύμισες αυτό το τραγούδι (το πρώτο)  )
Σκεφτόμουν να βάλω κάτι αλλο. Διαβάζοντας και ακούγοντας τον daniel, με πήγε κάπου μουσικά, αρχικά... Αλλά τελικά, πήγα κάπως, συνειρμικά, πάλι στους Kinks (νομίζω αυτούς έβαλα την πρώτη φορά εδώ, σε άλλα τραγούδια) και στη Lola, που δεν ήταν κορίτσι...

Χμμμ..μάλιστα...

...Να απαντήσω στη θεσπέσια και άτακτη Lola της Ιωάννας με την "ανόητη" Sally των Sweet Smoke...   

Οι Sweet Smoke εκτός του ότι υπήρξαν  από τις χαρακτηριστικότερες hippy μπάντες και από τις πιο αντιπροσωπευτικές του πνεύματος των '60's, ήταν μια από τις πρωτοπόρες progressive jazz-rock  μπάντες των 60’ς-70’ς και σήμερα θεωρείται και από τις πιο επιδραστικές στη σύγχρονη fusion και new age μουσική σκηνή. Σχηματίστηκαν το 1967 στο Μπρούκλιν της Νέας Υορκης, ενώ to 1970 μετακόμισαν στην Ευρώπη (Γερμανία) όπου πιστοί στο πνεύμα της εποχής ζούσαν σε κοινόβιο..

Την ίδια χρονιά κυκλοφόρησαν τον πρώτο τους δίσκο με τίτλο "Just A Poke" που σχεδόν αμέσως τους μετέτρεψε σε cult συγκρότημα της underground Ευρωπαϊκής σκηνής που έψαχνε εκείνο τον καιρό την απάντηση στην αντίστοιχη αμερικάνικη (ειρωνία!  )…

Λέξεις όπως rock jazz, acid rock, raga rock, hard rock, experimental music περιέγραφαν κατά καιρούς τη μουσική τους. Χαρακτηριστικό αυτής της πενταμελούς μπάντας είναι το γεγονός πως στις περισσότερες συναυλίες της συμμετείχε η κοινότητα και οι κολλητοί του κοινοβίου (10-15 άτομα!), παίζοντας διάφορα περίεργα αυτοσχέδια όργανα δημιουργώντας έτσι μια μοναδική ατμόσφαιρα μουσικού happening... (Κάτι σαν τους δικούς μας ..."Αέρα Πατέρα" για όσους ξέρουν.. ).

Στη σύντομη "ζωή" τους (ως το 1974) κυκλοφόρησαν άλλα δύο άλμπουμ τα πολύ καλά "From Darkness To Light" (1973) και "Sweet Smoke Live" (1974)..

Από το εξαιρετικό ντεμπούτο τους "Just A Poke" που περιείχε δύο τραγούδια 16 λεπτών και κάτι το καθένα (!) , ένα σε κάθε πλευρά, ακούμε τη θρυλική "Silly Sally" της δεύτερης πλευράς..
