Ένα τραγούδι, επιτυχία της εποχής εκείνης, από την ποπ/80s περίοδο των Queen... Σίγουρα οι "συμμαθητές" το θυμούνται

Παρότι ήταν ένας "φόρος τιμής" στο ραδιόφωνο, συνοδευόταν από ένα εντυπωσιακό για τα τότε δεδομένα βίντεο κλιπ, το οποίο είχε συμβάλει σε μεγάλο βαθμό στην επιτυχία του, με σκηνές από το βουβό αριστούργημα του Φριτς Λανγκ Μetropolis.
Στη δεύτερη στροφή γίνεται αναφορά στην ιστορική εκπομπή του -νεαρού και άγνωστου τότε- Όρσον Γουέλς το 1938 στο αμερικανικό ραδιόφωνο. Ήταν μια δραματοποίηση, με τη μορφή δελτίου ειδήσεων, του κλασικού μυθιστορήματος επιστημονικής φαντασίας του H.G. Wells "Ο πόλεμος των κόσμων". Και ήταν τόσο πειστική, που κάποιοι αφελείς ακροατές που δεν είχαν ακούσει την εκπομπή από την αρχή, πανικοβλήθηκαν νομίζοντας ότι η Γη δεχόταν επίθεση από τον Άρη...

Και μια και ο Οβίδιος δίπλα μας πήγε στην Ιρλανδία, ένα τραγούδι του 1988 από τους Pogues, το συγκρότημα του "μονίμως μεθυσμένου" Shane MacGowan. Προήλθαν από την αγγλική πανκ σκηνή, αλλά ποτέ δεν παρέλειπαν να τονίζουν την ιρλανδική τους ταυτότητα, συνδυάζοντας την ενέργεια και τον αυθορμητισμό αυτού του μουσικού ρεύματος με τη μουσική παράδοση της Ιρλανδίας.
Είναι ουσιαστικά δύο τραγούδια σε ένα. Το πρώτο μέρος, η μπαλάντα Streets of Sorrow, αναφέρεται στη ζωή στη Βόρεια Ιρλανδία, όπου η καταπίεση και ο τρόμος ήταν καθημερινότητα. Το φολκ/πανκ δεύτερο μέρος, στους "Έξι του Μπέρμινχαμ". Ήταν μια υπόθεση παρόμοια με αυτή των "4 του Γκίλφορντ" (στην οποία βασίστηκε το σενάριο της ταινίας Εις το όνομα του Πατρός). Οι έξι είχαν καταδικαστεί βάσει ενός ιδιαίτερα σκληρού αντιτρομοκρατικού νόμου ως μέλη του ΙRA, με κατασκευασμένα, όπως αποδείχθηκε μετά από χρόνια, στοιχεία και με ομολογίες αποσπασμένες με βασανιστήρια.
Όπως ήταν επόμενο, το τραγούδι απαγορεύτηκε στη Βρετανία και ακόμα και σήμερα δεν παίζεται στο ραδιόφωνο...
